I do think the modern Aussie helmets and the ones that are filtering in now in to the sub-continent are much safer. Anyway just imagine how men like Gavsakar played against likes of Marshall, Garner, Roberts and Holding without one!!! Awesome... Better learn ducking or hooking the short one better...
